MEET THE TEAM

Daniel Dolby

Dan was stationed at point Mugu Naval Air Station serving in the aviation branch of the United States Navy. After his enlistment was up in 1965, he joined the Ventura County Sheriff's Department, until a back injury in 1969 ended his law enforcement career.

Dan started his career with Farmers Insurance in 1975 with an emphasis on Auto, Home, Life and Commercial coverage.

In a few short years, he earned the Topper's Club Award for 28 consecutive years, aslo obtaining the Championship Club in Commercial Insurance.

Early in his career, Dan began specializing in Auto Dealership Commercial Coverage at one point becoming the #1 Agent in the country for Farmers Insurance. He is currently a top producer of Franchise Auto Dealership in the Western United States.

Dan is a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, holding a 4th degree status. In his spare time he enjoys golf, walking and water activities. He is married to his childhood sweetheart, Joan and they recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. They are the proud parents of 3 children, 9 grand-children and 2 great grand- children.   

Suzanne Speed

Suzanne began her insurance career in Oxnard with Farmers Insurance in 1984 as a Customer Service Representative. She is the Office Manager for the Dolby, Farrar & Speed Agencies and a Notary Public.   Suzanne is a member of Pacific Coast Training Club and volunteers with the Oxnard Stars Youth Track Club. In her spare time she practices and teaches yoga, runs 5Ks  as well as enjoys travel, sports, and reading. Suzanne has 3 children, one grandchild.

Evan Swanger

Evan joined the Dolby-Speed agencies back in 1997 and is the bilingual Personal Lines Manager which handles over 2000+ personal line accounts. Evan was a member of the Santa Clara High School Saints boys basketball team (1988-1991) which won 2 CIF State Basketball titles (1989-1990) and runner-up in 1991. Evan is currently a member of Business Networking International and the Channel Coast Officials Association where he officiates CIF Boys basketball. In his spare time, he enjoys sports, yoga, and spending time with his with his wife Brooke.

Katie Damas

Katie joined the agency in 2014 and is the billing specialist. She is currently taking courses at Ventura College and lives in Ojai with her family. She enjoys riding horses, camping and hiking. She volunteered with Presbyterian Disaster assistance to rebuild homes that were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. She also went with multiple organizations to Tijuana Mexico to build homes for families in need.

Johnny Speed

John began his insurance career in San Diego with Farmers Insurance in 1988 after graduating from San Diego State University. In 1995 he moved his agency to Oxnard, CA where he has achieved Farmers Insurance Group Topper Club (Top 5%) Life and Commercial Masters, and Elite Commercial Agent. John is a current member of Business Network International, past president of Oxnard Stars Youth Track Club & Ventura County Youth Track Conference, and past Head Coach for Track & Field – Cross Country at Oxnard High School. Now currently coaching at Oxnard High school.  John currently competes in the USA Master Track Program for Pacific Coast Training Club, and is nationally and world ranked in the 100, 200, & 400 meter events. During Track & Cross Country season, John along with his wife Suzanne manages Speed Timing.
